Developed in collaboration with British naturalist and wildlife cameraman Simon King, this bird's nest design draws upon his extensive knowledge and experience in observing and photographing wildlife.

The underlying design principle is that many small bird species prefer an open-style nest box with easy access, as they also seek concealment from potential predators. This lightweight bird habitat caters to a variety of bird species that favor the open-fronted nester style.

Included in the kit is everything needed to simply hang the bird nest from any suitable location. The bird nest pocket can be wired into a hedge or ivy, or attached to a wall using the supplied spare loop of fixing wire.

Crafted from sustainably-sourced materials such as steel, rattan, and brushwood, the nest is both lightweight and durable, with a rattan landing platform and a low dividing wall separating the nesting or roosting space.

For nesting purposes, the nester should be kept clean and positioned in a secluded location out of reach of predators, with the open entrance concealed behind the sidewall and covered by the roof. For roosting, the nest should be placed in foliage, out of the prevailing wind, and within 20 feet of feeders.

Installation is straightforward, as the nest can be secured in foliage, hedging, or an open out-building using the supplied coil of fixing wire. The brushwood nester measures 145 x 270 x 130mm and weighs only 325g.
